Active Education WA is more than an education business.
We design, develop and deliver group programs for all ages. Our 2-3 hour long courses& events encourage active involvement in sharing knowledge and skills for sustainable and healthy lifestyle practices. Our Programs foster life-long learning, intergenerational community experiences, Culturally and Linguistically Diverse participants, recycling and re-purposing. We work with Councils, businesses, organisations, services and events in our Kwinana, Rockingham and Serpentine/Jarrahdale LGA's. Our integrated curriculum supports your accountable plans for the future.

The MAKE YOUR OWN Program currently has 2 short courses to offer:
MAKE YOUR OWN Cleaning Products
MAKE YOUR OWN Self-Care Products
These 2hour courses demonstrate active participation in
- Making your own natural products for cleaning, health and personal care
- Reusing clean household waste
- Maths - Measurement
- English - Reading, Speaking & Listening
- Science - properties of base ingredients and how they are effective in the final product
Each course comes with a booklet containing recipes, information about ingredients, where to buy ingredients locally and in bulk, local businesses that sell similar products

The GROW YOUR OWN Program currently has 2 short courses to offer:
GROW YOUR OWN Edible Garden from Kitchen Scraps
GROW YOUR OWN Herbs for Common Ailments
These 2 hour courses demonstrate active participation in
- Making a planter box for herbs using cuttings and seedlings
- Ensuring healthy soil biology to maintain a productive ecosystem
- Reusing organic and recyclable kitchen and household waste
- English - Reading, Speaking, Listening
- Science - Biology, properties of herbs
Each course comes with a booklet containing information about how to make an effective planter box, plant and planting gudie, where to buy ingredients locally and in bulk, local businesses that sell similar products

The MOVE YOURSELF Program currently runs 2 alternate fortnightly courses for families and our children:

These short courses demonstrate active participation in
- Group exercise activities such as using the local exercise equipment, team sports, songs with actions
- Bush walking and bush skills
- Sun & surf safety, beach games
- Identifying local plants in our area and what they can be used for
SOUL SOUNDS
The SOUL SOUNDS Program contains short courses that demonstrate active participation in
- Group music experiences such as singing in a choir, drumming and percussion
- Learning body percussion and exploring vocal techniques
- Simple harmonies, singing & drumming in rounds

SUNNY SOUL
Sunny Soul is a performance character. She can play double bass, sing and play the flute. You can choose what instrument she plays depending on your event. She can be ambient background musician or encourage audience participation. She also performs as a roving character to encourage audience participation in events with her friendly and welcoming aura and small gifts relevant to the event. Genres include blues, soul, jazz fusion, funk, scar, reggae, dub, folk, bluegrass, classical, chakra frequencies...

I am Sunny Shaun Douglas. CEO and Governing Educator for Active Education WA.
I am an educator and musician/songwriter/performer with 20 years experience working in a range of educational institutions; Long Day Care, Public Primary Schools and Adult Education - Registered Training Organisations. I have publicly performed solo and in groups for music and performance art and collaborated to write and record 2 albums. I have lived, loved and worked in NSW, Queensland, Tasmania, NT and WA in rural, remote and urban areas.
